Should I do a second Meso application for controlling bent grass in tall fescue?

I applied meso as a post emergent 3 weeks ago to kill off the creeping bentgrass in my ETF. Looking at the lawn, the bentgrass is definitely discoloured but close up it still looks like there’s green leaves.

Should I do a second application? If I do, should I spot spray or do the whole lawn again? (ETF is still very bleached).

If no second application required, I plan to scarify to pull it out.

When controlling browntop in rye or tall fescue, it’s generally recommended to carry out two applications around 14 days apart, using a sticker such as NZLA Sticker to improve uptake.

You’ll want to spray the entire lawn for an even result. Just be aware the bleaching will look worse after the second application before it improves, this is normal and part of the process.

@Jono I’m surprised you haven’t got more bleaching already to be fair!

@Jonny Hicks it's pretty bad in some places!

I think I may have the same weed growing in my tall fescue. I noticed it as I mowed a bit shorter today and it showed up more easily. Does this weed look the same and if so can I blast it with Etho and MESO in two applications also?

@Ray Upton it looks similar to mine (I attached a photo in case that helps). I used meso only as the label lists it as being effective on bentgrass while etho label doesn't. If you do use both as a post emergent you don't want to apply them at the same time as you'll smash the tall fescue too hard.
