Is this Poa annua in my lawn?
Unfortunately with a new baby at home I’ve been a bit slack with spraying preemergents etc. I’m hoping these light green patches are poa annua as the lesser of two evils. However I’m not sure. Can anyone confirm? Grass is MDR.
From that seed head it's hard to tell as it hasn't opened up. Pull a plant out gently and look at the base. If there are above-ground runners (stolons) spreading out from the plant, it's Poa trivialis. Poa annua doesn't do that.
The canoe shaped tip of the lead will confirm if it's one of the two. Most likely Poa annua.
Thanks for your help. I cannot see any above ground runners so I'm thinking poa annua. Gonna get some etho onto it asap.
@Brendon Waterhouse Hey mate, make sure you’re following the two step process with Etho. First application gets watered in, then the second goes down 7-14 days later and you leave that one on the plant.
@Jonny Hicks Yep that's the plan, cheers mate!
