Grass Weed ID

Does anybody know what this weed is have a lot of it in my recently seeded elfin tall Fescue lawn which was seeded late in early May so could be thriving in this area as it was very waterlogged when I sowed seed and seems to be more in wettest area in middle, I could not find a match on plant/weed identifier

I fear it's a wet land plant , reed rush type, these should have hollow stems or white pith.
Another thought is toad rush . Lawn needs cored to help drainage, soil conditioner like 3w or the one suited to wet soils .
Test some with glyphosate with penatrant or Nzla sticker.
Another thing I do is crush the plant n sniff it yeah I'm a bit weird but some produce easy to id smells like onion weed (no bulbs on your sample.
Sedges are meant to have edges ie very course to sharp leaf edges .
Any with a seed head development or mow around some till it produces some .
I feel the root structure is rhizome . To add to a search on Google or ai but ai is a lot hit n miss on plants . Especially grass .

@Stephen cheers Stephen when I sowed the seed we had alot of rain so soil was soaking wet I gave it a spray and most has started to die was wondering if it came in the soil or in the seed as there was a lot there and I have never had it in my lawn before thanks for the help I will look those up for a match.

@Craig some seeds remain dormant for a long time. Seed bank (seeds in the soil) can be high the reason we recommend pre emergent herbicide with rye grass. Down side is if the weed species falls outside the pre emergent herbicide range .
If gold is getting it then sweet. Grind through ai or Google lens pics or look for a mature example.
