How to Repair Dog Urine Patches in Your Lawn

Dog Pee Repair Time!

After a quick search of the group, I couldn’t find much advice on this so here is how I have done it in the past for those with family members that have had some slight accidents over the colder months.

Once the grass is completely dead its fairly easy to remove any dead grass and take it back to soil. Then I like to pull a few cores out over the patches, which will be filled again with your seed/Top dress mix.

Step 3, as you can see in the pic I have a fairly heavy seed to soil mix, this will definitely keep the birds happy or you can cover with some small cut outs of frost cloth.

The other way I have done it in the past is to slightly dampen the seed mix and leave it inside for 3 to 5 days and let the seed pre-germinate. If you choose this way, definitely keep an eye on it because once the seed grows it’s first main root, it is very hard to spread.

Finally spreed your mix and keep slightly damp until things start to happen.
