Browning in lawn
I am seeing a lot of browning across the lawn which I’m wondering if it’s frost burn we have had really hefty frosts for a week or more. Also wondering if I need to water as I haven’t been since it got really cold but worry the wind down here will dry it out and maybe a good one off watering would be an idea? I’m strictly following the application guide and not getting any growth so haven’t mowed for 3 weeks just wondering if taking the tips off with a light mow would help? The lawn needs a good scarify but will wait until spring and then add some new grass seed to thicken it up I have dark rye and it looks good from a distance colour is holding up really well. Any thoughts?
Grab a soil sample, check dryness. Although in this app is soil moisture readings .
Browning from frost damage (reduced damage can be achieved by foliage feeding before first frost ) guide brews are ok I personally run higher iron .
A Reno or dethatch in mid to late September might be on the cards .
If your following the guide I'd expect less frost damage.
Hi Stephen thanks for the feedback I’m doing an application tomorrow so will try increasing the iron
