Should I treat moss and fungus now or wait until spring?
Hey guys .
After almost 4 weeks now the Blenheim house property grass seems much better than before . However; as the weather hasn’t played on my side . The grass now has some moss and somethings else , maybe some fungus .. do you reckon should i leave till spring or just put some product to control them 😥
The moss is telling you the canopy is thin and the soil is staying wet for long stretches. Cut back any irrigation (probably not needed at all in Blenheim from May through August), let air get to the soil, and keep feeding so the canopy thickens. The moss will retreat once spring growth picks up and the lawn closes ranks. NZLA Moss is a good product for clearing out the moss, the fact there's no heavy shade there tells me you must be pumping the irrigation to get moss build up like that. Fungus is typical when its staying wet for prolonged periods. I think I recall commenting on a previous post of yours telling you that you were watering too much but you didn't reply. The moss product can be applied now.
