From patchy lawn to stripes: ETF renovation success
It’s amazing how quick you can turn around a lawn. Going from patchy paddock grass, killed it off and re sowed Elfin Tall Fescue and 9 weeks later it looks amazing! It’s nice to look out at stripes every day again. First time using ETF after using fine fescue at previous house. So far a good choice!
Looks great. What was the full process you followed? Did you used pre emergents at seeding?
@Iain Perry killed off existing lawn, scalped, cored and scarified, used compost (couldn't afford lawn mix) to fill in low spots and to top dress, seed, rolled, starter fert, etho and meso as pre emergent and then water
Looks great @Peter Sigvertsen by “fill in the low spots” is that where surface level dropped or no grass growing?
@Marek M thanks. Yes I filled in low spots to get a more flat and level surface
Bloody fantastic how satisfying is that
@Emm Andrews yeah I'm very happy with it! A couple of bare areas under the trees but hopefully they fill in during spring
