What are the correct Etho and Meso application rates for removing Fine Fescue and Browntop from Ryegrass?
Spraying Fine Fescue and Browntop out of my lawn tomorrow and leaving the rye grass alone. Can anyone confirm the application rates please. Is it the same as if spraying for post and pre emergent? Cheers
Just use the normal application rates for the cultivar you want to keep, which in your case is Perennial Ryegrass. Browntop doesn’t tolerate Meso particularly well, but I’ve found it generally takes two applications to fully remove it. As Jonny has mentioned, you’ll also want to use a sticker to improve its effectiveness. Etho won’t control the Browntop, but it will target the Fine Fescue. Be prepared for the lawn to look shit for a while doing 2 Meso applications close together.
