Scott’s drop spreader vs broadcaster spreader
Do you use the Scott’s fertiliser spreader for grass seed too or do they have a different one for that

I’d recommend sticking with the Scotts drop spreader for seed. They’re pretty cheap, usually around $80–$100 and they do a much better job of getting an even, consistent application.
For fertiliser, I’d go with a broadcast spreader, as it spreads the fertiliser out much more evenly. Alternatively, one of the little handheld battery spreaders works well for fertiliser too.
You can put seed through a broadcast spreader, but it tends to go everywhere and the application can be a bit all over the shop. So personally, I’d use a drop spreader for seed, broadcast spreader for fertiliser.
I’d avoid using a drop spreader for fertiliser, I know a couple of people who do but it’s so easy to miss heaps of the surface.
Ah awesome thanks Jonny that drop spreader was what I was looking at but bunnings only mentions fertilizer in description cheers

@Jonny Hicks ah cool I've got near 700m2 but don't mind walking round lol I was thinking a fert spreader like that
I keep mine just for seed.
@Jonny Hicks yeah I saw on one of your YouTube videos using it and thought it might do both but definitely want seed spread evenly
@Sean Dirks I have this drop spreader and used it for fertiliser in a previous life 😉 the problem I had was that the prill size was too big and it jammed and just did not work well. I only use it for seed now and have the same Ryobi hand held for fertiliser. I’m happy with both. The hopper in the handheld might be a little small for large properties, will need to refill.
Defo recommend the drop seeder! The one that Jonny posted is what I’ve got. You can do one pass to check the level of distribution
