How does the ‘My Stock’ work on the app?
Granular fert application: All Seasons or All Seasons N+?
Just looking at my application schedule and
• The poster says apply All Seasons
• The app says apply All Seasons
• But the “stock used” in the app says All Seasons N+
Im thinking just All Seasons without the N but thought Id check as I was having a tutu with my schedule as Im a bit behind and may have changed something accidentally.
The “My Stock” section is simply your own inventory list based on what you’ve loaded into the app.
When you apply a product in your journal, the app deducts that amount from your stock so you can keep track of what you’ve got left. You’ll need to add any products you’ve purchased to that page first.
This part of the app isn’t linked to any recommendations or guides, it’s just a simple way to see what stock you have on hand without going to the shed to see what's left.
Would be keen on some feedback on what made you think the "My Stock" page is linked to what you're supposed to be applying? That is what the guide/calendar is for.
I should also add, if you haven't added anything to your My Stock page when you do a journal entry, it will add it to the My Stock page automatically based on the size container you selected when making the journal entry (and deduct the amount uses).
So it's best to spend 5 minutes setting up the My Stock page first, as that will make it all work mint.
@Jonny Hicks ok will try to attach some pics to show what I did. Its a bit past tense now because Ive already posted the scheduled entry for the fert application yesterday.
I had added all the stock Ive got to My Stock in the app and it seems to be working well.
A while back I chose to add all the recommended applications to my calendar - first pic shows “Planned 31” in top right corner.
Clicked the pencil icon for May Week 1 application as I was only going to add the granular fert and not the liquids - it shows “May week 3” in the pic because Ive already posted May week 1 yesterday.
But when it opened to edit it had NZLA All Seasons +N in the product list to be used (and subtracted from my stock) rather than All Seasons without N - pic 2 shows this.
Hopefully this is clear enough.
Further, the application recommendation was granular day 1 followed by water then liquid ferts (humic/root health/boost nurture) day 2 - pic 3.
But when I edited to just used the granular and deleted the liquids, the journal entry closed for May week 1 without asking if I wanted to reschedule the liquids.
**not a major, and I’m not complaining, I fully love the app, but this may be something to add in?
@Phil.P looks like a small bug on the syncing of the application guide for May week 1 - Fixing now. Thanks for that!
Stick with All Seasons. Soil temperatures are cooling and the lawn's growth is already slowing down. That's not the time to be pushing extra nitrogen into the plant with N+ when it's naturally winding down for winter. All Seasons gives you less upfront nitrogen and a bigger percentage of slow release, so it's much more suitable at this time of year.
All Seasons N+ is there for situations where the lawn has a specific nitrogen deficit and needs a decent boost. That might be in spring when you're trying to kick growth back on after winter, or mid-season if the lawn's looking pale despite regular slow release. In late autumn, adding extra nitrogen just stresses the plant and makes it vulnerable to fungal issues when conditions are wet and cold. You don't want soft, weak growth as temperatures drop.
@Jonny Hicks perfect thanks heaps that makes sense.
I went with the plain All Seasons today & watering in and now have some gentle warm rain on assist.
