How do I control worms in my lawn?

Can I spray the soil to prevent ongoing issues with the worms in the soil and will the advice spray kill the grass seed.

I’d recommend Tea Saponin. It can be applied safely at any stage during the establishment phase with no risk to seed germination.

Just be mindful it will bring worms to the surface, so you’ll often see birds feeding after application. They might stay around feeding on the seed after the worms have gone. I wouldn't worry too much about that though.

It’s a product that may need a repeat application in around 2 to 4 weeks depending on conditions. Be very careful around ponds and waterways as it is highly toxic to fish.

@Paul Reilly 200 to 400 mL per 100 m², so you would be looking at 1.2 to 2.4 L depending on the rate used. You may also need enough for a follow up application.

This product works best with a decent amount of irrigation to get it down to where the worms are. A trick I’ve found is to apply it after a good amount of rain. The worms naturally come nearer to the surface, so applying it on the tail end of rain can be quite effective, the worms are already higher up 👍
