What is the application rate for NZLA Moss?

I’m wanting to apply NZLA moss to a couple of my lawns. Mostly perennial rye, but one is fine fescue. The bottle is telling me 200-500ml in 10L of water covers 100m2. But the NZLA app is tell me the application rate is 50ml to 100m2. Can someone confirm the correct rate to use per 100m2 and water ratio. Cheers

The app doesn’t say 50ml its say 200ml/100m2 which is the lower rate.

@Lance McClure I just checked the backend of the app and you’re correct. I’m not sure where they’re getting 50 mL from, as the rate calculator is set to display 200 mL, which is the lower end of the application rate.

I initially thought it may have been a typo in the app settings, as I have to load all of these manually, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

I think i'm going to remove the rate calculator tool from the app, as it seems to be causing more problems than it’s solving, particularly around water rates and people not understanding sprayer calibration and products with variable application rates etc. I thought the idea was good, but it doesn't seem to be helping many people. Instead, it's causing more confusion.

      From the website:

Lawn application: Mix 200-500ml in 10L of water, covers 100m²

The lower end of the rate (around 200 mL per 10 L water) is suitable for light or early-stage moss growth, where you’re mainly aiming to suppress and prevent regrowth. The higher rate (around 500 mL per 10 L) is intended for heavy, well-established moss where you need stronger surface coverage and deeper penetration to get full desiccation and kill.

@Jonny Hicks thanks for this info. It’s exactly how I was reading it from the website and bottle. Was just double checking through the app and that’s where the confusion came in. Here’s the screen shot of what was looking at on the app

@Jonny Browne Ultimately, the bottle is the one you should always follow, as that’s the approved label and the source of truth. If there was an error on the bottle, we’d have much bigger problems.

If you ever notice a discrepancy between the application rates on the bottle and somewhere else (such as the website, app, or one of the reference guides), always follow the bottle. The other locations are there purely as handy references, but because they’re manually maintained they’re more susceptible to the occasional typo or mistake.

Best thing to do in that situation is flick me a message via the website and bring it to my attention so I can check it and fix it up 👍
