Boggy lawn corner: How to improve drainage and prevent winter fungal disease
I have a corner area that seems to be a bit boggy and now sun not super high doesn’t feel it’s really drying out. Would this be the best option to try combate it? Any other ideas?
Do you recommend using fungus pro throughout winter too and if so how often?
Thanks in advance!
I’ve got exactly the same corner situation at my place.
Penetrate & Aerate is my go to through winter in those spots. Leaving the grass a bit longer helps in that spot.
On the Fungus Pro question, it’s a contact fungicide, not really a preventative. Although you can use it regularly without resistance risk.
If disease pressure is an issue in your area through winter you’re better off on a preventative programme and rotating fungicides. Azoxy etc 👌
Would it be worth while doing the whole yard each time in penetrate and aerate? Would it benefit the lawn in general or just focus on that area solely?
@Emm Andrews I normally do the whole lawn before heavy rain and give those areas a bit extra. I've actually got in to a bit of a habit of getting it down before heavy rain now. I also pull a few cores in my spot. it's still problematic but certainly helps.
