Paclo Turf Growth Regulator (250 g/L Paclobutrazol)
Paclo is a professional-grade turf growth regulator designed for the suppression and long-term control of Annual Poa (Winter Grass) in cool-season turf. Containing 250 g/L Paclobutrazol, Paclo helps reduce Poa infestations while improving turf quality, colour, and playability.
Commonly used in greens, fairways, and high-performance sports turf situations, Paclo also regulates growth by reducing vertical height and encouraging desirable turf species to dominate.
Where Paclo Can Be Used
- Paclo is suitable for:
- Bentgrass (Agrostis spp.)
- Perennial Ryegrass (Lolium perenne)
- Kentucky Bluegrass (Poa pratensis)
- Blends containing Fine Fescue and Tall Fescue
This makes it ideal for mixed cool-season lawns and turf in New Zealand, especially where Annual Poa suppression is required.
Application Rate
7.5–15 ml per 100 m²
Always water in with 4–6 mm irrigation immediately after application
Key Benefits of Paclo
- Suppresses and controls Annual Poa (Winter Grass)
- Reduces vertical turf growth
- Improves turf density, colour, and overall quality
- Enhances performance of cool-season grasses
- Reduces seed-head visibility when timed before emergence
Top Tips for Using Paclo
Water in immediately: Apply to wet or dry turf, then irrigate with 4–6 mm.
Timing matters: Apply 1–2 weeks before Annual Poa seed-head emergence for best visibility reduction.
Expect results: Poa growth slows within 1–2 weeks; higher rates may cause temporary yellowing or browning of Poa.
Blend management: Overseeding helps desirable grasses replace weakened Poa. Wait 14 days after application before overseeding. For new seedlings, delay Paclo use until turf is established (minimum 6 weeks after seeding).
Seedling establishment: Avoid applying before heavy rainfall or irrigation events; wait at least one month after application before planting new seed.
Avoid tank mixes: Do not mix with Group 3 fungicides (DMIs such as propiconazole, tebuconazole, triadimenol, triticonazole).
Temperature caution: Do not apply when daytime highs consistently exceed 32°C, or when turf is stressed by heat, cold, drought, or saturated soils.
Turf health: Avoid use on turf weakened by insect damage, disease, or recent renovation until recovery is complete.
Professional Use in NZ
