NZLA Azoxy  Fungicide – Premium Lawn Disease Protection with Azoxystrobin

NZLA AZOXY is a professional-grade turf fungicide containing the active ingredient Azoxystrobin, delivering powerful and long-lasting protection against a wide range of lawn diseases for up to 28 days. It’s a xylem-systemic fungicide that moves upward through the plant and across leaf tissue, ensuring even distribution and lasting effectiveness throughout the lawn canopy.

Key benefits

  • Provides up to 28 days of disease protection.
  • Controls a wide range of fungal diseases including Brown Patch, Anthracnose, Winter Fusarium, Grey Leaf Spot, Helminthosporium, Pythium and Red Thread.
  • Moves both through the xylem and translaminarly across the leaf, protecting treated and new growth.
  • Excellent preventive activity when applied before disease pressure builds.
  • Safe and effective for professional and home-lawn use when applied as directed.

How it works

Azoxystrobin works by interrupting ATP production in fungal cells, halting energy creation and stopping disease development at the early stages of infection.

Once applied, NZLA Azoxy is taken up by the plant and transported upwards through the xylem (acropetal movement). It also spreads through the leaf surface (translaminar movement), protecting new tissue as it grows. This combination ensures strong residual control and even coverage across the entire plant.

For best results, apply NZLA Azoxy as a preventive treatment before infection occurs. When symptoms are already visible, it should be tank-mixed with a suitable curative fungicide that works via a different mode of action.

Application guidelines

Apply NZLA Azoxy at a rate of 23 mL per 100 m² using enough water to achieve thorough and even coverage without runoff.

For preventive use, start applications when conditions are favourable for disease – for example, during warm, humid weather or periods of extended leaf wetness. Reapply every 21 to 28 days during high-risk periods.

If symptoms are already visible, mix NZLA-AZOXY with another fungicide from a different FRAC group to improve control and reduce resistance risk.

For newly established lawns, wait until the grass is well rooted and has been mown at least twice before applying.

Lawn diseases controlled

NZLA Azoxy controls a broad range of common lawn fungal diseases, including:

  • Brown Patch (Rhizoctonia spp.)
  • Anthracnose
  • Winter Fusarium (Fusarium Patch)
  • Grey Leaf Spot
  • Helminthosporium (Leaf Spot Complex)
  • Pythium (Blight and Root Rot)
  • Red Thread

This makes it an ideal fungicide for lawns, golf courses, and sports turf across New Zealand.

Resistance management

To maintain effectiveness, rotate NZLA Azoxy with other fungicides, NZLA Fungus Pro is a great product for this as it doesn’t have resistance issues like Azoxy can.

Environmental and safety information

Azoxystrobin has low toxicity to humans, birds, and soil organisms when used as directed. It can, however, be harmful to aquatic life, so avoid spraying near waterways or drains. Always wear gloves, eye protection, and appropriate clothing when mixing and applying. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

FAQs

NZLA Azoxy is a systemic fungicide that protects lawns from a broad range of fungal diseases. It moves upward through the plant and across the leaf surface, blocking the fungus’s ability to produce energy and stopping the infection before it spreads.

One application of NZLA Azoxy provides protection for up to 28 days. Under high disease pressure or in humid, wet conditions, a 21-day interval is often preferred to maintain full protection.

NZLA Azoxy works best as a preventative treatment. Apply when conditions are warm, humid, or persistently wet, these are the conditions that favour fungal growth. It can also be applied at the very first sign of infection.

Yes. NZLA Azoxy is compatible with most lawn fungicides, growth regulators, and liquid fertilisers. For active infections, it should be tank-mixed with a fungicide from a different FRAC group to strengthen control and reduce resistance risk.

Yes. NZLA Azoxy is formulated for both home and professional turf use. When applied at the correct rate, it’s safe for use on domestic lawns, golf courses, and sports fields.

NZLA Azoxy controls common fungal diseases such as Brown Patch, Anthracnose, Winter Fusarium, Grey Leaf Spot, Helminthosporium (Leaf Spot), Pythium Blight, and Red Thread—problems frequently seen in New Zealand’s humid conditions.

It’s best to wait until the lawn is fully established and has been mown at least twice before applying NZLA Azoxy. Young seedlings can be sensitive, and waiting ensures strong root uptake and even coverage.

A light irrigation or dew period can help NZLA Azoxy move into the leaf tissue, but avoid heavy watering or rainfall straight after application. Allow the spray to dry thoroughly before traffic resumes on the lawn.

Rotate NZLA Azoxy with fungicides that use a different mode of action. Avoid repeated back-to-back use of Group 11 (strobilurin) products. Combining chemical rotation with good mowing, aeration, and moisture management will keep resistance risk low.

Once dry, NZLA Azoxy has low toxicity to pets and people. However, it is harmful to aquatic life, so care must be taken to avoid runoff or spraying near drains, ponds, or waterways. Keep pets off treated areas until the product has dried completely.
