Five quick questions on your climate, sun, water, wear and mowing. We'll work through five grass types and land on the cultivar that actually suits you.
The five grass types
Tap a struck-through option to see why, then go back if you want to keep it in the running.
At New Zealand Lawn Addicts, we don't sell blended seed. When you mix grass species, chemical control of foreign grasses like Poa annua and summer grasses becomes almost impossible. Stick to a single cultivar and keep your spray options open.
Step 1 of 5
Where in New Zealand are you?
Climate is the biggest driver. Pick the zone closest to your place.
Narrowing it down
Ryegrass is looking like a strong match
We stock four varieties, so one more question to get you to the right one. Tell us how dark you want your lawn. Darker lawns make weed grasses like Poa annua and summer grass stand out more, so they take a bit more upkeep to stay looking sharp. Lean lighter if you want a low-maintenance lawn and aren't too worried about the odd foreign grass.
